I prefer Central American and South American cichlids, I have raised and bred several varieties. I like Demspeys, (or atleast it is the new fish I am working with) and am currently trying to get into the position to line breed some electric blues. I have cross bred several types of cichlids, and raised convicts, firemouths, texas, demspeys, oscars, several varietys of african cichlids, and many more. I also have raised and bred carachins, and other fish types of fish. I have built aquariums, filters, ceramic "caves" and breeding pots. I dislike the discus I find it ver un-appealing to me for some reason. Cichlids are a great hobby, and if your so inclined they can pay for themselves.

Really no one has a bred a Tex yet? I have a blue texas that has been trying to breed with my JD, it scares my JD to death so it isn't happening. I guess I have another project I'll breed some blue texas, probably about a month or so befor eI can get another tank set up and then I got to find another blue, but I've had nothing but luck breeding cichlids so sounds like fun.

We have shop here that has a Midas/Tex combo that breeds often. The fry are healthy, very red, maintain the midas face, but have the tex body, fins, and metallic fleck markings.

Our tex tries to breed with out JD, but the JD won't hear of it.

I am thinking of trying a severum/tex combo to see if I can get breeding . . . don't know yet still moving in lol (we bought a house in the middle of winter so now with spring lots to do with it, plus work, and college)
