this is where i keep some of my victorians "the sp.44s" or thick skins.....they seem to love it and spawn very regularly. seem to really love the plants.

the sand is all purpose sand from home depot, the rocks are granite, and the plants are amazon swords, and java ferns, powerglo lighting.

hey guys,

sforys noticed yesterday that my fish looked like it was holding and its been confirmed! so now come the questions. since i'm new to keeping cichlids, this is the first cichlid that i've had preggers. any help that anyone can give me is great. i hav an isolation tank that i can put the fry in, but i need to kno wat to do with the fish.

I hate the fact that most big companies are selling products which are not suitable for all cichlids.All tropical fish food are not for all kinds of cichlids and moreover the use of chemical and other hazardous products to unnaturally enhance the colour of the fish is not what nature has meant for the fish.The use of such products may help for a certain amount of time,but it should not be used for a long duration of time.As it is not safe and beneficial for the fish as well it is cruel.

I've raised, cross bred, and hybrid these little critters. They are Central American fish, and highly aggressive, size doesn't matter to them. A little black and white zebra striped cichlid, they only get about 7" max, most of them I have seen are only 4-5" full grown. Males and female are easy to tell, males get bigger, females smaller. All i have to say is WTF??? i live in toronto, the largest city in Canada and my tap water has such messed up levels. i thought we were supposed to have great water treatment.

Ammonia 0.5ppm

I dont understand this at all. I tested 2 different taps in my house. Anything i could do to get rid of the ammonia and the nitrates. No wonder my tank isnt cycling properly. what is the point of changing the water if its not gonna get rid of any of my nitrates??

We are looking at a 90 gal tank to move our tex/con too to see if any of our JDs will pair up in the 60 gal. This will mean re doing the 60 gal to make it a better breeding ground. So a possible project in the future.

Also shot a new vid of the tank to get one before any moves.

A side note we are redoing our upstairs, I've been thinking about taking and putting an in wall tank in up stairs, but I don't know if I would want to risk a possible leak on the second floor of our house, ...

i put a chinese algae eater in with my colony of OB peacocks.......BAD IDEA!!!! those lil algae eaters chased my peacocks for 2 hours lol. finally ended up pullin it back out.

Ive been keeping fish for little over a year now. It all started w. a 26 gal then an 80, now i have the hundred(the 26 and 80 gal. are my boyfriends) and another 100 gal on the way!

I enjoy seeing any type of animal happy, but especially fish. A lot of people believe fish cant feel, or arent big enough to care enough about, so thats why i enjoy giving them homes they otherwards might not have had. and in return they bring a beautiful, peaceful enviroment into my life:)

heres a quick cheap way to make your powerhead filter alot better then it does with just the "poop sponge" lol.....all you need is some a powerhead , some kinda plastic bottle, some hot glue or silicone, filter padding, and some carbon
